SOUL : Interpretation of a sculpture by John Henry Waddell
by Harry WOOD
It does not take much effort to the most unprepared discoverer of John Henry Waddell's sculpture to perceive that, beyond the graceful goemetry of figures often inspired by dance, it speaks to us in a language that we intuitively understand.
Art is the name of this language.
The Beauty of Individual Differences traces the Waddell's path that led them to the Verde Valley. Growing up in Iowa, educated in Chicago, teaching at Arizona State University, living and working in Mexico and Greece, are vital ingredients that led to the creation of the apprenticeship in 1970.
More than a documentation, it embraces concepts of growth and change in life valid for many disciplines.
